Bill Maimone, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Engineering
Bill Maimone is the senior vice president of worldwide engineering and leads the worldwide engineering team in architecting and delivering the next generation of open source database solutions. His broad responsibilities are aimed at making Ingres products better, faster, and easier to use, as well as encouraging the growing community of Ingres partners, customers, and researchers.
Bill brings 20 years of Oracle database architecture management to Ingres. Most recently, he served as a vice president in Oracle's Server Technologies division with responsibility for its collaboration software, including content services and records management. For more than 10 years, he led Oracle's innovation in data security, developing pioneering technology developments and advances within the U.S. and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) security bodies. While at Oracle, Bill also managed worldwide, cross-functional groups of developers working on identity management, SQL language and runtime services, directory services, globalization, query optimization, and data dictionary.
Bill holds a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
