INGRES CEO TO DISCUSS OPEN SOURCE ADOPTION STRATEGIES AT SIFMA'S ANNUAL TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE

Roger Burkhardt Joins Panel on Open Source at the Security Industries and Financial Markets Association’s 28th Annual Conference in New York


REDWOOD CITY, CA - June 10, 2008 - Roger Burkhardt, president and CEO of Ingres Corporation, a leading provider of open source database management software and support services, returns to his roots on Wall Street to participate in a panel on open source adoption in the securities industry.

Burkhardt, a former CTO and executive vice president of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), joins panelists from Novell, HP, Cowen, Red Hat, and the Linux Foundation on the open source panel at the Security Industries and Financial Markets Association's (SIFMA) 28th Annual Technology Management Conference. It is one of the industry's leading events, with more than 7,000 people registered to attend. The conference will address the rapidly-changing world of technology and how the financial industry is using technology to drive productivity, comply with regulatory requirements, and adapt to converging markets. The conference will be held at the Hilton New York, New York City, June 10 - 12.

The panel, entitled "Open Source - an Update" is scheduled in back-to-back time slots on Wednesday, June 11, from 1:45 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. (ET), and again from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. (ET) in the Mercury Ballroom, 3rd Floor, giving conference attendees more than one opportunity to attend this important panel. Panelists will discuss the role of open source in technological innovation for the financial industry.

As the former CTO of the New York Stock Exchange, Burkhardt brings a unique understanding of the technological needs of the financial sector, and is widely considered a thought-leader on open source and related technologies.
