Product Availability
Ingres offers products in three primary categories including Relational Database Management System (RDBMS), Data Access and Integration, and Application Development. Though the Ingres RDBMS is the product line most associated with the Ingres name, Data Access and Integration products like "Enterprise Access" and "EDBC" are widely deployed. In addition, the OpenROAD application development product from Ingres is available on many platforms and used widely as an easy-to-use visual 4GL for a variety of custom applications.
Ingres makes these three categories of products available on an extensive range of platforms/operating systems. While many of these platforms are seldom used for new deployments, Ingres continues to support nearly all product deployments on their original platforms. Therefore, below are three different views of Ingres Product Availability, one view for the most recent and popular releases, one view for the most widely deployed releases, and one a complete list.
